This May, step into a vibrant celebration of local creativity at the Get Creative Exhibition,
proudly hosted at the Thameside Gallery. Running from 17th to 31st May, the exhibition
showcases the incredible talents of both aspiring and professional artists, makers, and creators
from across Thurrock.

Expect a colourful and eclectic mix of art, craft, and creative expression – from paintings,
prints, and textiles to photography, sculpture, and handmade pieces that reflect the diverse skills
and stories of our community. Whether created in a garden shed, kitchen table, or studio space,
this exhibition is a testament to Thurrock’s creative spirit.

We’re especially proud to feature work from the Express Youth Mental Health group, whose
thoughtful and expressive artworks explore themes of mental wellbeing, resilience, and
identity – highlighting the powerful role creativity plays in supporting young people’s emotional
health.

Also on display will be our Community Scarf – a beautiful, collaborative textile piece created
earlier this year by local groups and creative individuals as part of our Troupe! cabaret event.
Stitch by stitch, this scarf weaves together the voices and visions of Thurrock’s creative
community.

The Get Creative Exhibition is about celebrating everyone who makes – whether professionally, passionately, or simply for the joy of it.
