Amy Mellows

Graduating from the University of Exeter’s Drama department with a 1st in 2020, Amy is an experienced creative freelance artist, facilitator and theatre-maker from Havering. She is now the Senior Project Officer for Arts Outburst, running Make Some Noise’s drama groups, wellbeing creative clubs and is the Director of our Creative Development Programme Troupe. She also works as a Director, Storyteller, Performer, Host, Radio presenter and Video Editor. Amy has a particular interest in Experimental, Immersive, Political, Intermedial/interactive/media-based theatre, performance and art & applied/socially engaged arts practice, queer theory & human rights activism. Amy recently worked on You Me Bum Bum Train’s latest immersive production and has lots of experience in community arts producing and theatre in education. Amy’s experiences as a working-class female artist from an under-represented low socio-economic background, working in the arts and digital practice field, have led her to advocate the importance of diversity and inclusion in access to theatre practice.
