The workshop begins with a digital art piece, Canvey is England’s Lourdes, the true story of Nora Arthurs and her dream to make Canvey a place of pilgrimage.

Nora’s life will inspire creative writing and an exploration of Essex history.

Through practical and written exercises, we’ll explore themes of community, place, hope, and belief.

Aimed at first-time writers, the sessions cover basic playwriting skills – character, dialogue, and action. Participants will create and share their own short pieces during the workshop.
